Instagram post 2192528514783496697_205370186 Me and Dad ❤️ Missing him tons and tons and it still doesn’t really feel real 😔 Got to get my Christmas head on somehow 😏
Instagram post 2191774657904168110_205370186 Thank you for the messages, support and to those that could come today.
Dad loved a good crisp day. He was happier in the shade or even happier walking in the hills with the dog on a foggy day so the fact today the fog didn’t lift actually didn’t surprise me.
Dad once told that life is a bit like a mist.. “The mist will wrap itself around you; it is silent not cold. It is as white as the first snow of winter not grey and dark like fog. It sparkles with the snow behind it, the very thing that will disperse it and take it away. You can see the mist; you can feel it, it wraps itself around you, it gets in your clothes, your hair, your skin, you can smell it, you can breathe it, you can even taste it.
But the one thing you can not do is hold it.” I totally get that now.

How on earth have I missed this place?! Absolutely wonderful day out at St Fagans National Museum of History. Based in St Fagans just outside Cardiff this gem of a museum is so much more than what is traditionally considered a museum. It’s £5 for parking and FREE entry! I can’t really believe this, for a whole day out you pay nothing. A couple of Restaurants on site but you can take a picnic in and plenty of picnic tables and places to pop a blanket down. I wanted to treat my ...

Benefits of playing outdoors

April 15, 2019      admin      Leave a Comment

Both of my children spend a lot of time outdoors but Matilda was born here and being a younger sibling she has been out with big brother and the dog pretty much since a week old. Today whilst outside she picked up some leaves and told me she was going to make a puppet show. Totally her idea, totally her creations. I just observed as she picked leaves, flowers and sticks and put them together to make ‘puppets’. When created she crawled under the trampoline and held them up on the edge of ...

How can I make my garden more wildlife friendly?

April 9, 2019      admin      Leave a Comment

Alot of us would like to have more wildlife come to visit our gardens and for good reason too! Some of the UK’s most loved animals are in decline and at risk of extinction. Lawsons, a builders merchant who specialises in landscaping supplies has pulled together a list of things we could all do in our gardens to help prevent this.   Provide Food & Water• The first way to attract wildlife to your garden is to provide them with a source of food and drink. ...

Driving me round the bend

April 4, 2019      admin      Leave a Comment

This summer, we are spending three weeks towing our Caravan though western France into Spain. We start our journey from home to Portsmouth, then the Ferry to Caan, on down though Le Mann, Ile de Rae, Biarritz and then in Spain and the ferry home from Santander. 860 miles. 860 miles towing 1.75 tonnes with three bikes on the roof, two children in the back, dog in the boot, wife navigating (and mediating!).  There has been a recent survey about distractions while ...
