I think with all the grey skies at the moment and the January blues seeming to hang on, what we all need is summer and of course festivals. I have had several people ask what festivals I recommend for families, so I am listing my top five for 2017. With a big drum roll needed here is my top five in no particular order. Blissfields Festival - 6th - 8th of July - Winchester I am a little bit biased when it comes to Blissfields as I work with the amazing angel gardens every summer at ...
Carry on caravanning
We have always camped. For years it has always been in tents but last year we decided it was time to upgrade to a caravan. Don’t get me wrong I love a tent but I was so tired of all the packing of bags and trying to organise the kit in the tent. We wanted to get abroad and simply cannot afford the prices; this seemed like the only way we could do it. We love getting closer to nature, exploring lots of different places on a budget (after buying the caravan, of course) and not having to travel ...
Living in the Sticks
I'm not sure where the past six years have gone. The time here at Garden Cottage has flown by. At times it is hard and has been a huge challenge but I wouldn't change it for the world. I lived in Manchester for 18 years. Dylan was born at Salford Royal and has spent so much time visiting Manchester over the years he thinks of it as home as much as living in Herefordshire. The main difference between the two is pretty much down to the weight that you carry but the inbetween carrier also has a extra chest strap and is just a little larger. All Rose and Rebellion carriers are buckled carriers which means that it fastens with a ...
Quick Play Ideas
Quick play ideas You may be filled with dread at the thought of doing any play ideas which involve paint and glue. On a day off from work with little time to fit everything in it is not always my idea of fun. That’s why I am keen to share some ideas for quick play. Honestly all of these activities took me minutes to throw together but can keep a young child amused for ages. You don’t need to be artistic to create quick play ideas, or have a lot of time on your hands, just some ...
Sharing is caring on behalf of baby loss awareness week.
"There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you" - Maya Angelou October the 9th till the 15th is Baby loss Awareness week. I have titled this 'sharing is caring' because it is important for those who have lost to be able to talk about it and it is important for you to listen. In between my son and my daughter I had a missed miscarriage. It was early days and a long time ago but you never forget and in all honesty why should you forget? Certain things stick out ...
