No more in the dog house – a review of vet bedding

February 9, 2020      admin      Leave a Comment

Penny dog loves to get wet. A very typical labrador, she loves jumping in the river, puddles, streams and any muddle puddle she can roll in. This can often leave her in the dog house when she comes back in soaking wet and muddy, dripping all over the floors and the sofa.

I recently heard about something called vet bedding. I was told it would be perfect for Penny as she can get on it after getting wet and it will get her dry but the blanket will dry quickly and keep her warm. It sounded perfect for her.

I did some research and found a company called Soul Pet. I popped a email over with a number of questions and they were incredibly helpful and advised which bedding would be best for Penny. I picked the style and they sent it out to me quickly.

At first glance, vetbed resembles a type of sheepskin, and it’s true that perhaps that’s the easiest way to describe it: like a manmade version of a sheepskin. It’s made from artificial fibres and has two sections: first, an underlying mesh, similar to the “skin” part of a sheepskin, and second, the comfy, soft, springy artificial fleece part that is attached to the mesh.

It’s easy-to-clean, durable and versatile: it’s no wonder that it’s the”industry standard” for vets, groomers and boarding kennels. Vetbed has excellent drainage properties, keeping pets dry if prone to “leaks”. It’s easy to wash (at up to 95 degrees) and it dries rapidly.

As for aesthetics, Vetbed comes in a range of colours, and different patterns.

What I really love is it made in England from recycled plastic bottles, so even Penny is doing her bit for the planet.

I love it as it keeps my house a little bit less muddy and of course Penny and all the cats are great fans to. So no more being in the dog house for Penny.

*Disclosure – Blanket sent to us purposefully for this review.
