Matilda Melody summed up in a picture. No shoes Matilda Melody summed up in a picture.

No shoes (standard), hair wild (standard), bow and arrow (standard), and well the dresses are becoming less of a thing but apparently today this dress is something “a outdoorsy girl wears” 😂

Still buzzing from her outdoor award and think this is another good example of why she deserved it 🥰

Today I cried with pride twice. The first time w Today I cried with pride twice.

The first time when I got to witness Tilly get the outdoor award at school. A very difficult award to get and one given out for exceptional behaviour and skills in all outdoor lessons and activities. It’s a wonderful award and happens to be my favourite.

The second time when Dylan got off the school bus. Tilly told him to shut his eyes and wait and see what award she had. Dylan being an x pupil knew exactly what award it was. He scooped her up in his arms and swung her around and around whilst screaming out how amazing she is. It was one of those moments I will never ever forget and it’s well locked away in the memory bank.

It’s been a long hard term with covid, flu, sickness, dramas and just life. This has finished it off perfectly and I’m very, very ready for the break.

Today was a great day ❤️

Breaking the caravan golden rule to abide by the rules

We are lucky. The caravan lives at home with us, no storage, no distance to travel to check on her just a walk across the garden and in the winter months a squeeze to get under the storage cover. When the world stopped moving in March we were lucky to be able to do some minor repairs on the caravan that we have never got around to doing before, it was cleaned at least once a week, the shine coming off her could be seen from the top of the country lane. We had one night of sleeping in the ...

Frozen nature eggs

April 25, 2020      admin      2 Comments

Yesterday we did the most lovely and simple of activities which has proven so popular and so many have asked how we did it. Really very simple and enjoyable for all ages. We made frozen nature eggs. All you need is eggs, and cold water. We also used flowers and food colouring too. The flowers were not picked as the bees need them more than us but we saved them from the mower and tractor in the fields. I cracked the eggs very carefully leaving just a small hole in the top, enought for ...

No more in the dog house – a review of vet bedding

February 9, 2020      admin      Leave a Comment

Penny dog loves to get wet. A very typical labrador, she loves jumping in the river, puddles, streams and any muddle puddle she can roll in. This can often leave her in the dog house when she comes back in soaking wet and muddy, dripping all over the floors and the sofa. I recently heard about something called vet bedding. I was told it would be perfect for Penny as she can get on it after getting wet and it will get her dry but the blanket will dry quickly and keep her warm. It sounded ...

Benefits of using artificial grass for outdoor and indoor play areas

February 3, 2020      admin      Leave a Comment

Outdoor play is so important for children at home and at school. Whatever the weather they should be going outside to play. More and more homes, schools and nurseries have installed artificial grass to provide safe and easy to maintain areas The benefits of installing artificial grass outside are obvious – it saves time on maintenance, stays green all year round and prevents patchiness from developing – but you might not know that it can be used inside too. The Benefits It’s ...

A love for Photography

December 29, 2019      admin      1 Comment

Photography has changed significantly over the years the old camera my Nan used cannot be compared to a camera like a (Professional) Mirrorless Cameras but what hasn’t changed is my families love for photography. My Nan loved her camera. I can remember little about her but in my Dads old office I can find dozens of photo albums and old slide shows. The pictures are often faded, and I don’t know the faces staring at the camera, but I have always still loved to flick through them. I am sure ...
