Five years ago we went on the most perfect holiday. Dylan was yet to start school so we had the bonus of going in term time. We went to Ibiza. Somewhere I had always wanted to go, but I always knew with a young child in tow it wouldn’t be all about the nightlife and parties.
I’m sure you have wonderful visions of lying on the beach and sun loungers but when you have young children those sun loungers don’t really get used much. This is why it’s important to do some research and check what attractions can you find. It would be lovely to have a lazy holiday but the children wouldn’t be to impressed and Julian isn’t one for doing nothing on the beach.
I can’t imagine we will be flying far whilst the children are still young but if we did I would love to take them back to Ibiza next year and I have been looking at Gran Canaries holidays for 2018
I have started to look at what attractions and things we can do whilst in the Canaries. Julian is a fisherman and I would absolutely love for him to have some time fishing. You can book a 6 hour sport fishing trip, it’s something he’s always wanted to do and Dylan may want to go with him.
Dylan has discovered a love for walking and Pico de las Nieves looks stunning, amazing views that is highly recommended on numerous walking sites.
I would love to go to Mount Teide a volcanic structure and most voluminous in the world after Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea in Hawaii. It is the highest peak on the Canary Islands and in the whole of Spain.
You of course have the usual scuba diving trips and a few theme parks which we may look at doing depending on time.
You can go on a whale and dolphin tour. A 2.5 hour marine sightseeing tour and have a swim in the sea before heading out to see the whales and dolphins sounds perfect to me.
The planning has started, as much as I love my caravan a holiday with the family that’s not just about the beach has started.
