Ok so Google maps is a liar 😂 well you can’t Ok so Google maps is a liar 😂 well you can’t account for traffic jams I guess. Yesterdays 3 hour drive was actually more like 5 but on a plus note it was a beautiful drive through the Pyrenees and as Dylan said “it looks like we are in Africa”.

Arrived on site in roughly 42 temps so setting up was fun but both children are used to it and now older they got stuck in with pumping and hammering the awning pegs. Thank goodness for an awning that is so easy to put up that a 7 year old and 13 year old can manage it.

Here for a week. About a million pools and the sea next to us. Entertainment that will make Js toes curl but the kids will love it.
I’m off to snooze with my book.
It’s taking some planning this trip but we’ve made it...

So pleased I strongly believe that swimming and cycling are so important for children and she’s now swimming like a fish and riding like a Olympian (well nearly 😆)

30 years I’ve known Mr Lane. The reason we met, 30 years I’ve known Mr Lane. The reason we met, the person that introduced us, a good friend, the best of friends left us a today.

I am shocked of course not just for what I’ve lost but for her family.
Doesn’t feel real that such a friend, the best of friends with the greatest of memories has gone.

I don’t drink mid week but tonight I will be having a drink for her but not a special brew like back in the day!

So many amazing memories, how blessed I was to know her ❤️

Finding the time – giveaway and review of Jord watch

August 17, 2018      admin      16 Comments

I was recently contacted by Jord watches and asked to review and run a giveaway contest. I will often accept items for family, friends and the children but I’ve never actually accepted something for myself before so I thought why not? Treat myself for a change to a new woman’s watch and it’s a lovely competition to be able to share.

I can’t actually remember the last time I bought something for myself. We went out to a evening wedding the other night and it was lovely to be able to take time to get ready and get out of the trackies into something more glamorous. I didn’t want to take a handbag and didn’t want to take my phone so it was lovely to be able to pop a watch on and keep an eye on the time that way rather than my phone.

As well as being Mum sometimes I’m actually Vicky and have to work. I work as a emergency services operator, a job that I could write a book on! So it can often feel like I’m juggling a lot of balls. The day can fly and I’m consistently aware of having to pick children up from school, clubs or family at particular times and It’s been so long since I’ve worn a watch and can’t say I’ve ever had such a unique watch. I have alway grabbed my phone to check but then you end up looking  at other things and before you know it another 10 minutes has pasted. I have loved having the watch and just having a quick glance to keep track of where I’m up to.

This September I am returning to college to study to become a teacher. Part of this course will involve me being in a school. Having the watch will again help as of course I can’t look at my phone to check the time.

I am also studying to become a forestry school teacher so having a wooden watch seems quite appropriate.

Jord wood watches are handcrafted from natural woods — Maple, Bamboo, Koa, Zebrawood, and Sandalwood among them, and the glass is scratch-proof, which is very good when you are helping at forestry schools! The watches are created from all untreated wood with the exception of the clasp, which is stainless steel. All are totally unique watches.
Each watch can be adjusted to your wrist size. The watch fits my wrist perfectly and most of the time I forget that I’m actually wearing it. The watch arrived in the most beautiful box which Matilda has already claimed as hers to fill with dolls shoes and clothes.
From the second I opened the box I could tell this was a high-quality product. I chose the Fieldcrest – Zebrawood and Maple, which I consider to have a medium-sized face. They make watches of all sizes, woman’s watches and men’s wooden watches.
Its been lovely to wear and not feel like I am picking my phone up to check the time for a change. I’ve got so used checking my phone for the  time but then you end up going online to look at other things too.

My watch is lovely. Not only is it a beautiful piece of jewelry that I am happy to have on daily, but it has served a very helpful purpose in limiting my unnecessary phone time.  I love the use of wood, the transparency in the sustainability of the materials used, and the self-winding mechanism. I acknowledge that a watch like this is a treat for me for a change, but I can honestly say that I would highly recommend these watches to anyone who is interested in getting something nice for themselves. We all deserve that sometimes, right?

JORD has all different styles and designs of wooden watches

The JORD watches are gorgeous, aren’t they? I love so much that you’re training to be a forestry school teacher and that the watch is just so fitting with that.
