Prolux specialists work only with highly effective eco-friendly cleaning agents, which do not contain any chemicals. This means that each procedure, offered by Prolux is completely safe for your family and pets. Cleaning your carpet in an ecological way is the best thing you can do to protect your loved ones. Cleaning with products that you can find in any home, like soap, salt and sawdust is also a “green” method for carpet maintenance. Check our cleaning tips below, which may be interesting for you to know and test!

Carpet Cleaning with Sauerkraut

Sauerkraut will not help you to remove old spots, but it can well clean surface dust and dirt. Take sauerkraut cooked without the use of vinegar, and squeeze the brine out of it. Sprinkle it evenly over the carpet. So that the carpet does not absorb the smell of cabbage, you can lightly rinse it. After that, take a special carpet brush and use it to clean the coating along with the applied cabbage. When it becomes dirty, it needs to be collected. Then rinse it and scatter it again on the carpet. Repeat the procedure several times until you see that the cabbage remains clean. After cleaning, the carpet should be allowed to dry naturally. You may open the doors and windows to speed up the drying process.

Refresh Your Carpet’s Colors and Remove Bad Odor with Salt

Salt is used on the same principle as cabbage. Take ordinary salt (the ideal option would be to take fine salt) and sprinkle it on the carpet. Rub with a broom or a brush, and then sweep away with a broom, which before that is moistened in warm water. Clean until all dirt has disappeared. After that, vacuum the carpet. Salt can be replaced with dry wood sawdust, large bran or powdered milled pumice.

How to Clean the Carpet With Household Soap?

For any contamination of the pile, laundry soap can be used. This type of cleaning is ideal for those coatings that can be ventilated and dried. To carry out the procedure you will need to do the following: grate laundry soap on a fine grater, then dissolve 1 tbsp. spoon of this shavings in 1 liter of warm water. After this, add 1 tbsp. to the solution. Spoon of turpentine and mix well. Take a brush with artificial pile and use it to apply the prepared solution to the carpet. Leave on for a few minutes, then wipe the surface of the product with a wet rag. Wait again and do the same again, but with a new clean rag. After a few more minutes, wipe the carpet with a dry piece of cloth. After completing the carpet cleaning procedure, it is advisable to ventilate and dry the carpet well in the fresh air to eliminate the smell of laundry soap.

Common Carpet Cleaning Misconceptions

Knocking out a carpet is good — it’s actually bad — you can damage the pile;● It is useful to wipe the carpet with a cloth soaked in gasoline or liquid ammonia as this gives a shine – in fact, greasy spots may remain on the carpet and the colors darken.● Most carpets can be washed – in fact, only carpets without a glue base of synthetic and semi-synthetic origin can be washed.
