No shoes (standard), hair wild (standard), bow and arrow (standard), and well the dresses are becoming less of a thing but apparently today this dress is something “a outdoorsy girl wears” 😂

Still buzzing from her outdoor award and think this is another good example of why she deserved it 🥰

Today I cried with pride twice. The first time w Today I cried with pride twice.

The first time when I got to witness Tilly get the outdoor award at school. A very difficult award to get and one given out for exceptional behaviour and skills in all outdoor lessons and activities. It’s a wonderful award and happens to be my favourite.

The second time when Dylan got off the school bus. Tilly told him to shut his eyes and wait and see what award she had. Dylan being an x pupil knew exactly what award it was. He scooped her up in his arms and swung her around and around whilst screaming out how amazing she is. It was one of those moments I will never ever forget and it’s well locked away in the memory bank.

It’s been a long hard term with covid, flu, sickness, dramas and just life. This has finished it off perfectly and I’m very, very ready for the break.

Today was a great day ❤️

New log Burner – Tips for use

November 25, 2018      admin      Leave a Comment

Much excitement here this week. We’ve got a new log burner. The mess and dust has been horrendous but it is so worth it. If you haven’t had a log burner there are a few things that you need to know to really get the most out of that metal box in the fireplace that I thought would be worth sharing; Don’t burn water This is the most fundamental thing to get right when you’re burning wood. It might be surprising, but green wood is around 50 per cent water. That means that for ...

Ideas for decorating a child’s bedroom

November 18, 2018      admin      Leave a Comment

A child’s bedroom needs to serve multiple purposes – playroom, study and sanctuary – but its most important role is to provide your child (whatever their age) with a place of comfort and safety to lay their weary heads at the end of a busy day. 1. Paint – Paint has always been perhaps the cheapest and easiest way to dramatically change a room.  Use that to your advantage when your child wants to drastically change things up in their bedroom. 2. Throw Rugs & Accent Rugs – I LOVE putting ...

Moving house can be so very stressful without children so when you throw children into the mix it gets even more stressful. I have put some tips together to help: How to Move House With Children Under 5 You may think that for children under five years of age you will not have any problems but they may have established a very strong connection to the old home, or the people around it. The positive is at this age they’re very curious and like to explore new places and see new things. So, as ...

Putting the garden to bed with children

November 5, 2018      admin      Leave a Comment

As the days begin to shorten and a frost is in the air, there’s no escaping the fact that the summer’s over and the garden is starting its long slow slide into autumn and winter. There’s always a bit of a sad feel about this time of year – but children can feel it worse than most, the six month wait for spring seems like an eternity. The good news is, the coming of colder weather doesn’t have to spell the end of fun times in the garden – there’s more than enough to do to make their time ...

I have been quite on my site just recently because as well as college, work and being mum we have also been decorating. We are in the process of having a new log burner put into the lounge and with that the lounge is going to need decorating. This is me

September 7, 2018      admin      3 Comments

This is me - Have you ever tried to write about yourself? It’s actually really difficult. I have been aware that the basic idea of blogging is to keep a diary so how I can write daily without having something about me on my website. Where to begin? I won’t bore with stories of my early life as it’s really pretty insignificant to where I am now. Let’s start from age 16. I left school with no GCSEs, I wasn’t naughty at school, I wasn’t particularly good at sports, I was just very average which ...
