Ok so Google maps is a liar 😂 well you can’t Ok so Google maps is a liar 😂 well you can’t account for traffic jams I guess. Yesterdays 3 hour drive was actually more like 5 but on a plus note it was a beautiful drive through the Pyrenees and as Dylan said “it looks like we are in Africa”.

Arrived on site in roughly 42 temps so setting up was fun but both children are used to it and now older they got stuck in with pumping and hammering the awning pegs. Thank goodness for an awning that is so easy to put up that a 7 year old and 13 year old can manage it.

Here for a week. About a million pools and the sea next to us. Entertainment that will make Js toes curl but the kids will love it.
I’m off to snooze with my book.
It’s taking some planning this trip but we’ve made it...

So pleased I strongly believe that swimming and cycling are so important for children and she’s now swimming like a fish and riding like a Olympian (well nearly 😆)

30 years I’ve known Mr Lane. The reason we met, 30 years I’ve known Mr Lane. The reason we met, the person that introduced us, a good friend, the best of friends left us a today.

I am shocked of course not just for what I’ve lost but for her family.
Doesn’t feel real that such a friend, the best of friends with the greatest of memories has gone.

I don’t drink mid week but tonight I will be having a drink for her but not a special brew like back in the day!

So many amazing memories, how blessed I was to know her ❤️

Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads those sparky Dads, go and give them a squeeze from me today. I was so lucky to have the sparkiest of them all ❤️

Benefits of playing outdoors

April 15, 2019      admin      Leave a Comment

Both of my children spend a lot of time outdoors but Matilda was born here and being a younger sibling she has been out with big brother and the dog pretty much since a week old. Today whilst outside she picked up some leaves and told me she was going to make a puppet show. Totally her idea, totally her creations. I just observed as she picked leaves, flowers and sticks and put them together to make ‘puppets’. When created she crawled under the trampoline and held them up on the edge of ...

How can I make my garden more wildlife friendly?

April 9, 2019      admin      Leave a Comment

Alot of us would like to have more wildlife come to visit our gardens and for good reason too! Some of the UK’s most loved animals are in decline and at risk of extinction. Lawsons, a builders merchant who specialises in landscaping supplies has pulled together a list of things we could all do in our gardens to help prevent this.   Provide Food & Water• The first way to attract wildlife to your garden is to provide them with a source of food and drink. ...

To my Daughter on international women’s day

My daughter on international women’s day

It seems pretty fitting, on International Women's Day, to write a letter to the single most important female in my life. Because although you are "only" just three (four in a few weeks as you constantly remind me), one day you will be a woman, and, as your mum, I have so many hopes and dreams for the life you will live and lead. First, and possibly most importantly, know that you don't belong to anything or anyone. Nobody owns you, not even me or Dad. Do what makes you happy; ...

Review of a online one-to-one maths tuition program for children- MATR

February 14, 2019      admin      Leave a Comment

Advertorial content Maths is not my strongest subject. I tend to pass over the support for maths homework to Julian so when I was approached by Matr, a one-to-one online maths company to see if I would like to try out the program, it was out of interest not just for Dylan but for myself too. I thought it would be nice to be involved in the maths work for a change and maybe help both of us along the way. Dylan is 9 (turning 10 in May) and has struggled with his academics as a result of his ...

Festival guide 2019

January 31, 2019      admin      Leave a Comment

It’s that time of year again. Whilst the weather is grim and we are still in hibernation it doesn’t hurt to think about sunnier times to come. We head off to France this Summer for peak festival time so we will be missing the majority of them but fingers crossed we will squeeze in at least two. So here we go drum roll... The Lane families top ten recommended festivals for 2019.. in no particular order. Green Man - 15th - 18th August - Crickhowell. Love Green man lots. Absolutely ...

Wilderness Festival – 2012

May 21, 2017      admin      Leave a Comment

Wilderness 2012 Review I am normally a Glastonbury Lady so when asked to review a much smaller festival I really went with an image in my head of 5 stalls, 1 stage and a handful of people! The website for Wilderness (although somewhat confusing to navigate) was beautifully illustrated and presented and this carried on throughout the whole festival. We were also very lucky with the weather and this always makes for a more enjoyable festival. On arriving, we headed straight for ...
