Ok so Google maps is a liar 😂 well you can’t Ok so Google maps is a liar 😂 well you can’t account for traffic jams I guess. Yesterdays 3 hour drive was actually more like 5 but on a plus note it was a beautiful drive through the Pyrenees and as Dylan said “it looks like we are in Africa”.

Arrived on site in roughly 42 temps so setting up was fun but both children are used to it and now older they got stuck in with pumping and hammering the awning pegs. Thank goodness for an awning that is so easy to put up that a 7 year old and 13 year old can manage it.

Here for a week. About a million pools and the sea next to us. Entertainment that will make Js toes curl but the kids will love it.
I’m off to snooze with my book.
It’s taking some planning this trip but we’ve made it...

At last!!!! She was originally booked on the cours At last!!!! She was originally booked on the course run by @bikerightuk the Summer of Covid and of course it’s taken this long to get her back on it.

So pleased I strongly believe that swimming and cycling are so important for children and she’s now swimming like a fish and riding like a Olympian (well nearly 😆)

30 years I’ve known Mr Lane. The reason we met, 30 years I’ve known Mr Lane. The reason we met, the person that introduced us, a good friend, the best of friends left us a today.

I am shocked of course not just for what I’ve lost but for her family.
Doesn’t feel real that such a friend, the best of friends with the greatest of memories has gone.

I don’t drink mid week but tonight I will be having a drink for her but not a special brew like back in the day!

So many amazing memories, how blessed I was to know her ❤️
‘When you grow up and have children of your own ‘When you grow up and have children of your own do please remember something important a stodgy parent is no fun at all. What a child wants and deserves is a parent who is sparky’

Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads those sparky Dads, go and give them a squeeze from me today. I was so lucky to have the sparkiest of them all ❤️

Days out

St Fagans National Museum of History

April 25, 2019      admin      Leave a Comment

How on earth have I missed this place?! Absolutely wonderful day out at St Fagans National Museum of History. Based in St Fagans just outside Cardiff this gem of a museum is so much more than what is traditionally considered a museum. It’s £5 for parking and FREE entry! I can’t really believe this, for a whole day out you pay nothing. A couple of Restaurants on site but you can take a picnic in and plenty of picnic tables and places to pop a blanket down. I wanted to treat my son ...

West Midlands safari park

January 14, 2019      admin      1 Comment

It has been years since I lasted visited West Midlands safari park. I think the last time I went, I was around the same age Dylan is now so a very long time ago! I wanted to do something a little bit different with the children at Christmas and it can be difficult with such a big age gap to find something that they will both enjoy. I asked in a group I help admin on facebook (family days outdoors exploring in the uk) if anyone had any suggestions for days out that would suit and West Midlands ...

Days out – Tintern Abbey

April 21, 2016      admin      Leave a Comment

Today after a long lovely walk we found ourselves passing Tintern Abbey in Monmouthshire and with a spare couple of hours it seemed a shame not to stop. An area of outstanding beauty with this beautiful shell of a Abbey in the middle of it, we all enjoyed the time we had to run around and explore. My 6 year old loved running around on his own and just popping back whilst pretending to be a king and I felt comfortable with him doing so. Unlike many of the castle and church ruins we have ...
