I miss my Dad every day but I miss him the most in I miss my Dad every day but I miss him the most in November.

He loved mornings like this, out walking his dog with the fog on the hills. He told me once that the day I was born the fog was so thick he could grab it and feel it fold around him. He said that is the best metaphor for being a parent. The fog is so thick to start with but as I became older it would become less and less to the point you couldn’t grasp it and had to let it go.

As a parent now with a teen I totally get it.

Don’t half miss you Mr Edwards 💜

Happy 7th Birthday to the best dog and cat mother Happy 7th Birthday to the best dog and cat mother in the world. I know people always think they have the best dog but seriously Penny is in the top ten. Loyal and loving and just the easiest dog ever to look after and have around.

We all want another but she has been so good from day one that I’m terrified of what sort of luck we would get with another one 🤦‍♀️ if only humans could be a bit more like Penny (without the sniffing bums part) 🥰
Manchester has changed SO much. It has been years Manchester has changed SO much. It has been years since we went into the centre itself. What hasn’t changed is the people, atmosphere and my love for the city that will always be home.

Meeting the Nozstock family

July 11, 2019      admin      Leave a Comment

I’ve been attending festivals for over twenty seven years. In that time I have fallen in and out of love with different festivals for a variety of reasons, however over the years one that has always remained a consistent favourite not just for me but the whole family is Nozstock. Reviewing it over the years and the fact it’s on the doorstep has made me feel more attached to the festival so when I was recently invited to come and have a look around the farm and have a chat with Ella Nosworthy, ...

It’s that time of year again. Whilst the weather is grim and we are still in hibernation it doesn’t hurt to think about sunnier times to come. We head off to France this Summer for peak festival time so we will be missing the majority of them but fingers crossed we will squeeze in at least two. So here we go drum roll... The Lane families top ten recommended festivals for 2019.. in no particular order. Green Man - 15th - 18th August - Crickhowell. Love Green man lots. Absolutely ...

Nozstock 2018 – My type of festival

July 31, 2018      admin      1 Comment

Nozstock 2018 - A reminder of what made me fall in love with festivals 25 years ago. A 30 minutes drive is all it is for us to get to Nozstock, so close we can almost hear it. We are lucky to live in Herefordshire and it does not surprise me that a festival in the Shires has grown from a family party 20 years ago to a large successful festival. I last came with Dylan to Nozstock in 2014. Working at other festivals and holidays having kept us away. The general lay out is pretty much the ...

Top Five Family Festivals 2018

January 30, 2018      admin      11 Comments

So many festivals and so little Summer. The choice is huge now. When I first started writing about and taking the children to festivals you really didn’t have much choice but you could now spend a whole summer going from one festival to another. It’s hard for me not to be slightly biased towards some festivals as I work at them but my favourites are based on my experiences and my sons (he helped with this post) and friends experiences. We have picked five favourites and have listed in no ...

Nozstock Festival – 2014

May 21, 2017      admin      2 Comments

Nozstock 2014 Review Friday 1st August – 3rd August – Nozstock the Hidden Valley  It was a short but incredibly fun packed day for us at Nozstock this year. We only managed to get to the hidden valley full of dinosaurs and cave folk for the day this year but still had a brilliant time. Keeping myself and Dylan company was my sister in law and my niece, both experienced festival ladies who jumped at the chance of spending the day with us. Arrival to Nozstock is simply and ...
