I miss my Dad every day but I miss him the most in I miss my Dad every day but I miss him the most in November.

He loved mornings like this, out walking his dog with the fog on the hills. He told me once that the day I was born the fog was so thick he could grab it and feel it fold around him. He said that is the best metaphor for being a parent. The fog is so thick to start with but as I became older it would become less and less to the point you couldn’t grasp it and had to let it go.

As a parent now with a teen I totally get it.

Don’t half miss you Mr Edwards šŸ’œ

Happy 7th Birthday to the best dog and cat mother Happy 7th Birthday to the best dog and cat mother in the world. I know people always think they have the best dog but seriously Penny is in the top ten. Loyal and loving and just the easiest dog ever to look after and have around.

We all want another but she has been so good from day one that I’m terrified of what sort of luck we would get with another one šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø if only humans could be a bit more like Penny (without the sniffing bums part) 🄰
Manchester has changed SO much. It has been years Manchester has changed SO much. It has been years since we went into the centre itself. What hasn’t changed is the people, atmosphere and my love for the city that will always be home.

The best weekend celebrating @jules_spaceman 50th and our 22nd wedding anniversary.

Is 4pm to early to go to bed? šŸ˜‚

To Perpignan and back. An odyssey 2 years in the making.

September 30, 2022      admin      Leave a Comment

October 2019. A campsite in Cornwall, the rain lashing down while we sat in the caravan. ā€œYou know what? I want a beach holiday, lets look at heading to the south of France next year when we go. Guaranteed sunshine, white sands, turquoise seas, bliss. Lets do itā€ Fast forward 2 years, 10 months later. Article 50 has been signed, the UK has left the EU, and a new respiratory virus has changed the world. We’ve lived through unprecedented times, our lives but on hold, milestones for the children ...

There’s no place like Noz – Nozstock 2019

July 22, 2019      admin      Leave a Comment

When I first went to Nozstock (6 years ago) it was as a reviewer with a young child. Nozstock has now become a regular mark on the calendar. It generally falls on the weekend after they finish school so it feels like the start to the Summer holidays. What has changed over the years, apart from plenty on site (remember the old tractors?) is my relationship with not just with the farm but the family and crew behind it. It was so lovely to meet with Ella and have a look around the farm a few ...

Treating myself – a swimming costume review for UK swimwear

June 9, 2019      admin      Leave a Comment

I have had my swimming costume for years and my bikinis for even longer. It’s just not a priority for me, like most of my wardrobe my costumes date back to BK (before kids). Even though my daughter has a different swimming costume for every day of the week and my son the same, I have the one staple costume that comes out for the gym and holidays. When contacted by UK swimwear I initially hesitated as I don’t generally review clothes for myself, only for the children but after thinking about ...

The perfect present created by magic

July 6, 2018      admin      Leave a Comment

We lived in the city for years, boots were strictly the heeled, leather sort not wellingtons or waders. That all changed 8 years ago when we moved to the country. We have a boot box over spilling with different makes and sizes of boots so when I spotted the boot design pictures from created by magic I had to get one. It’s such a perfect picture to sum up our little family. I love how personalised the picture is. When initially designing you can pick different coloured boots and styles to ...

The green, green artificial grass of home

March 8, 2018      admin      Leave a Comment

I sometimes wonder if we actually have a dog or a rabbit. My back garden looks like it’s had a plough go across it. My gorgeous 2 year old Labrador does love to have a dig. We’ve tried filling in holes with bricks, filling in with mud and putting new grass seed down but nothing works. The front garden she never touches but the back garden is destroyed. We have looked at several different options. The replanting option we have tried and it just gets dug up again. We’ve considered slabbing the ...

Oscar and Hooch – Review of collar and lead

February 26, 2018      admin      Leave a Comment

What dog doesn’t like going for walkies? Penny (Penny Lane named as Dylan is obsessed with the Beatles) certainly loves them. In fact she bounces around like a kangaroo and races to the front door the moment you said ā€œwalk…(runs)… iesā€ We have tried several collars and leads for Penny but she does love to roll in mud and go swimming in ponds, so the collars never seem to last long.Ā  I wanted something I could throw in the washing machine yet it would be tough wearing and soft, and pretty ...
