When I first went to Nozstock (6 years ago) it was as a reviewer with a young child. Nozstock has now become a regular mark on the calendar. It generally falls on the weekend after they finish school so it feels like the start to the Summer holidays. What has changed over the years, apart from plenty on site (remember the old tractors?) is my relationship with not just with the farm but the family and crew behind it. It was so lovely to meet with Ella and have a look around the farm a few ...

Treating myself – a swimming costume review for UK swimwear
I have had my swimming costume for years and my bikinis for even longer. It’s just not a priority for me, like most of my wardrobe my costumes date back to BK (before kids). Even though my daughter has a different swimming costume for every day of the week and my son the same, I have the one staple costume that comes out for the gym and holidays. When contacted by UK swimwear I initially hesitated as I don’t generally review clothes for myself, only for the children but after thinking about ...
The perfect present created by magic
We lived in the city for years, boots were strictly the heeled, leather sort not wellingtons or waders. That all changed 8 years ago when we moved to the country. We have a boot box over spilling with different makes and sizes of boots so when I spotted the boot design pictures from created by magic I had to get one. It’s such a perfect picture to sum up our little family. I love how personalised the picture is. When initially designing you can pick different coloured boots and styles to ...
The green, green artificial grass of home
I sometimes wonder if we actually have a dog or a rabbit. My back garden looks like it’s had a plough go across it. My gorgeous 2 year old Labrador does love to have a dig. We’ve tried filling in holes with bricks, filling in with mud and putting new grass seed down but nothing works. The front garden she never touches but the back garden is destroyed. We have looked at several different options. The replanting option we have tried and it just gets dug up again. We’ve considered slabbing the ...
Oscar and Hooch – Review of collar and lead
What dog doesn’t like going for walkies? Penny (Penny Lane named as Dylan is obsessed with the Beatles) certainly loves them. In fact she bounces around like a kangaroo and races to the front door the moment you said “walk…(runs)… ies” We have tried several collars and leads for Penny but she does love to roll in mud and go swimming in ponds, so the collars never seem to last long. I wanted something I could throw in the washing machine yet it would be tough wearing and soft, and pretty ...
Mud glorious mud with vintage apple crates
When you move to the country you prepare yourself for so many things, the one thing I wasn’t really that prepared for was the relentless streams of mud that seem to end up on my wooden floors. The children are good and will kick boots off but it’s normally exactly that. Muddy boots kicked off with mud flying everywhere. The one thing we could do to prevent this was organising a way of storing muddy boots, and the way we have found to do it is with vintage apple crates. Vintage ...
